Residence permit for a large investor

A large investor is an alien who has made a direct investment in the amount of at least 1,000,000 EUR into a company, registered in the Estonian Commercial Register, investing primarily into the Estonian economy, or has made an investment into an investment fund, which, pursuant to its investment policy, invests the resources of the fund primarily into the companies entered into the Estonian Commercial register. Direct investment includes an investment in the share capital for which real estate, machinery, or equipment has been acquired and registered as fixed assets or for which investments have been made in other companies entered in the Estonian commercial register which have actual economic activities in Estonia or in an investment fund.

Coordination of the process of obtaining a residence permit (unlimited stay and right to work in Estonia, stay in the Schengen countries for up to 90 days in a 180-days period), including:

• preliminary analysis of the prospect of issuing the residence permit
• consultation in preparing the package of documents
• consultation in completing the forms
• accompanying the client to a service point of the Police and Border Guard Board or consulting in applying at an Estonian embassy in the client’s country of residence
• assistance in preparing answers to the additional questions of the Police and Border Guard Board, if they arise
• coordination of the residence permit card pickup
• hourly fee is charged for additional consultations over 20 minutes

Preparation of an application usually takes at least 6 weeks, depending on how quickly the client submits the information and documents.

Granting or refusal of the temporary residence permit shall be decided within 2 months from the acceptance of the application.

The residence permit card is issued to the applicant personally within 30 days at a consular office of the Estonian Republic stated in the application form, or at a service point of the Police and Border Guard Board.

The delivery of the residence permit card to a consular office may take additional time.
