Registration of short-term employment. Register your employment as a first step towards obtaining a Long-stay D-visa.

Short-term employment in Estonia is permitted for up to 365 days within 455 consecutive days. Short-term employment must be registered by the employer at the Police and Border Guard Board before you start working and before you apply for a long-stay visa. The service includes:

  • preliminary analysis of the prospect of short-term employment registration
  • consultation in preparing the package of documents
  • consultation in completing the forms
  • assistance in preparing answers to additional questions of the Police and Border Guard Board, if they arise
  • Long-stay (D) visa application

The decision on registering short-term employment, as a rule, is taken within 15 business days from the application submission.
