No, you don’t. Thanks to Estonia’s e-Residency program, you can open and manage a company remotely. We’ll guide you through every step online.

Our accounting plans cover monthly bookkeeping, VAT declarations, annual reports, and support with tax compliance. You can choose a plan that matches your company’s size and activity level.

Once you have your e-Residency card, it usually takes 1–2 business days to register a company online.

The contact person service is required for all Estonian companies whose registered address is outside Estonia. It provides an official representative to communicate with state authorities.

“Substance” refers to the company’s real presence within its jurisdiction — including physical office space, employees, and active management.

A VAT number is required when selling goods or services within the EU above the registration threshold, or when providing B2B services.

  • the company sells goods or services within the EU and the annual turnover exceeds €40,000, or

  • the company provides services to other EU businesses and the client requires an invoice with VAT.
